Trident has been fortunate and honoured to be involved with a group of visionary people that put an unbelievable effort in progressing the state of technology in modern dairy farming. Prairies Edge Dairy and Midwestern Bio Ag have been working on a game-changing project that allows the concentration of nutrients from dairy cow manure to produce an organic-based fertilizer at commercial scale. On June 16, 2017 Midwest Bio-Ag invited to an Open House at the new Fertilizer Plant to celebrate the project completion, showcase process details and present its TerraNu fertilizer products.
A successful day one is wrapped up at World Pork Expo in Des Moines. Many hog farmers have connected with us to learn about ways to improve lagoon management and reduce their operational costs. Truck washout application is also a topic in many conversations and the Trident Rotary Screen is proven to be an excellent system for this kind of solid-liquid separation.
Trident is going to exhibit at World Pork Expo 2017 on June 7-9 in DesMoines, IA. We will be presenting our solid separation and nutrient recovery technologies and look forward to connecting with the country’s major hog producers. Efficient liquid-solid separation is a key element in improving lagoon management and also the first step in nutrient recovery. The benefits downstream include reduced cost of transportation, better options for land application, improved odour control and biosecurity with cleaner reusable water. Come and meet us in booth AG715. For more event details visit www.worldpork.org.
Trident’s nutrient recovery system at Seabreeze Farms in Delta, BC represents the leading standard in commercially available technology for nutrient management and recovery for livestock operations. The automated system has been in operation for more than two years. The technology allows the farm to manage their waste stream (dairy cow manure and off-farm material like food waste, which is anaerobically digested) more efficiently.
Farms that plan to invest into nutrient recovery and or biogas systems will be excited to hear about the Agriculture Environmental Stewardship Act (HR 5489). The new bill addresses the importance of biogas and nutrient recovery technology which will increase the sustainability of farms. The Act provides a 30 percent investment tax credit (ITC) for qualifying systems. For more details see the industry news releases below.
